Notes from happy clients

Keith and Maureen wrote: Ingrid and Vic looked after our property and animals last year. We have Horses, Cats, Dogs, and chickens, Ingrid even compiled her own very comprehensive checklist of what a house sitter needs to know, and sent it to us in advance. We now use this as our standard check list. They exceeded expectations in their house sitting duties . The animals were well looked after and we received regular updates as to how all they were getting on. They made great friends with our pets, and treated them as if they were their own. They kept the house and terrace very clean , which made our return so much easier. Vic did a marvellous job with chainsaw on a large tree that had fallen down. We would have no hesitation in recommending them as reliable, conscientious and great house sitters, and would reassure anyone that their property and animals will be in good hands with them. Adriaan schrijft: ‘Ingrid en Victor hebben september 2012 op een huis van ons te Digueifel, Portugal gepast. Onze ervaringen met hen zijn zeer positief. Het huis was door het plotselinge vertrek van de vorige huurders behoorlijk smerig achtergelaten. Ingrid en Victor hebben tegen een kleine vergoeding het huis van onder tot boven gereinigd. Prettiger voor hen om te wonen, maar ook scheelde het voor ons veel schoonmaakwerk nadat zij vertrokken waren.  Daarnaast hebben ze tegen een redelijke vergoeding veel werk in de tuin gedaan, om de aanblik van het pand voor potentiële huurders te verbeteren.

De omgang met hen was prettig en wij zullen zeker, indien nodig, weer gebruik maken van hun diensten.’

Adriaan wrote: ‘Last September, Ingrid and Victor guarded one of our houses in Digueifel in Portugal. Our experiences with them are very positive. The house was, due to a hasty departure of the previous tenants, very dirty and Victor and Ingrid were willing to clean the house from top till bottom for a small fee.  Of course the cleaning made the house more liveable for the two house sitters, but it saved us a lot of work after Ingrid and Victor left. Besides the cleaning they worked for a reasonable fee in the garden, to improve the general impression of the house for future tenants.

Dealing with Ingrid and Victor was very pleasant and if necessary we shall definitely use their services again.’

Anne schrijft: ‘Lof voor Victor & Ingrid die deze zomer 3 weken op betrokken manier onze honden, katten en kippen hebben verzorgd. Voor we vertrokken, namen we een lijst met basis verzorgingstaken voor dieren en tuin met hen door. Dit werd met aandacht door hen opgenomen, wat maakte dat we met een gerust hart huis en haard achterlieten. Bij thuiskomst werd duidelijk hoe goed we het met hen hadden getroffen. Er was net dat beetje extra aandacht aan zaken gegeven waardoor onze nachtelijke thuiskomst opnieuw een soort vakantiegevoel opriep. Het huis was opgeruimd en schoon met bloemen (en zelfs eten!) op tafel. Onze bedden fris opgemaakt, klaar om in te duiken. De volgende dag zagen we dat ook de tuin en de buitenplaats extra aandacht hadden gekregen. Alles zag er uitstekend uit. De dieren waren duidelijk niets te kort gekomen en oogden gezond en relaxed. We hopen ooit weer gebruik te kunnen maken van Victor & Ingrid’s aanwezigheid en wensen hen via deze weg nogmaals veel succes met hun verdere loopbaan als oppassers. Dus mocht u op zoek zijn naar een betrouwbaar, prettig stel die met zorg op uw huis, tuin en dieren past, dan bevelen wij u Victor & Ingrid aan!’

Anne wrote: ‘Praise for Victor and Ingrid who, in an involved way, took care of our dogs, cats and chickens for three weeks, last summer in the Dordogne. Before we left we went through a list with basic chores and tasks concerning the animals. They listened with attention, what made us leave hearth and home without worrying. Back home, it became clear how lucky we had been with our house sitters. They just had paid that extra bit of attention to certain causes and our home coming felt a bit like another vacation: the house was tidy and clean, flowers and food on the table. Our beds were made, ready to jump in. Everything looked great. The animals were well fed and appeared relaxed and healthy. We hope to use Victor and Ingrid’s services in the future and we wish them good luck with their house sit career.

So if you are looking for a trustworthy, pleasant couple who take pride in taking care of your house and pets, we can recommend Victor and Ingrid.’

Jan schrijft: ‘Ingrid en Victor hebben twee weken op ons huis in de Morvan gepast. De dieren hebben een goede tijd gehad; hun kwam niets tekort tijdens onze afwezigheid. En daar bovenop hebben Victor en Ingrid ook nog eens de tuin klaargemaakt voor de winter en andere klusjes rondom het huis gedaan. En toen wij naar tien dagen thuiskwamen zag alles er tip-top uit en hadden ze ook nog een maaltijd voor ons bereid en dat is na een lange dag in de auto natuurlijk geweldig. Wij zullen op tijd aangeven wanneer wij weer weg willen gaan, anders (vrees ik) zijn ze allang bezet. Dit is dé manier om onbezorgd op reis te gaan en je hebben en houwen in goede handen achter te laten.’

Jan wrote: ‘Ingrid and Victor have been house sitting for us in the Morvan. Our animals had the time of their life and were well taken care of during our absence. On top of that Victor and Ingrid prepared the garden for the winter and did some other chores around the house. When we returned after ten days, everything looked splendid and they even prepared a meal for us what was very much appreciated after a long drive.

We shall let them know in time when we need a house sitter otherwise, I am afraid, they will be occupied. This is the best way to travel without worries about your home and pets. Your belongings will be in good hands.’

Lila Mookerjee schrijft:  ‘Ik was erg blij met de manier waarop Ingrid en Victor mijn twee katten, Romeo en  Julliette en mijn hond Joel hebben verzorgd. Beiden hebben goed inzicht in wat dieren nodig hebben.  Ze hebben wonderen vericht met mijn hond, die was achtergelaten door de voormalige eigenaar van het huis die het dier nooit getraind heeft. Nu heeft mijn hond geen probleem meer om aan de riem te lopen en gaat rustig en vrolijk mee voor een wandeling.

Het huis is trouwens brandschoon achtergelaten

Ik wens Victor en Ingrid veel geluk en voorspoed in hun verdere leven.  De wereld zou er beter uit zien als iedereen zo voor zijn dieren zou zorgen als zij doen.’

Lila Mookerjee wrote: ’I was very pleased the way Ingrid and Victor took care of my two cats, Romeo and Juliette and my dog Joel. They both have a very perceptive insight into the needs of animals. They did wonders with my dog, which had been left in the house by a former owner who had never trained the animal. Now the dog goes for walks on a leash, quietly and happily. The house sparkled like a jewel when they left. I wish Ingrid and Victor good luck and good fortune. The world would be a better place if people would look after animals the way they do.’

Jac schrijft: ‘Bedankt voor jullie goede zorgen, en Victor:  ik heb nog nooit zo'n goed schoongemaakt huis gehad, als een zonnetje schijn het. Grandioos man, om zo thuis te komen. Nogmaals bedankt!’

Jac wrote: ‘Thanks for taking such good care, and Victor:  My house has never been so clean, it’s spotless.  It made coming home a great experience. Thanks again!’

Tracy wrote: Just would like to say a massive thanks for taking such good care of the house and animals for me. It was a pleasure to go away and not worry about the menagerie. The donkeys, horse, goats, cats, Horace the goose and Misty are asking when you are coming back again as we all enjoyed your company and care so much. 

Amelie wrote: Ingrid est venue 9 jours chez moi pour s'occuper de mon chat Nénette (13 ans) pendant mes vacances.

Je vous la recommande chaleureusement et sans retenu. Elle m'a donné des nouvelles du chat par sms pendant les vacances. Elle est consciencieuse et organisée. Elle est aussi calme, avenante et souriante. 

A mon retour de vacances, mon chat était détendu, tranquille, la maison était parfaitement propre et bien rangée, un gentil petit mot m'attendait, bref un sans-faute.

En plus, pour les francophones, Ingrid parle français!

Very nice! We are very happy and Andre is now also convinced that hiring a cat sitter is the way to go, when you are away.

Lotti wrote: Ingrid and Victor are very friendly and reliable housekeepers. They are very organized and you will leave them your house, animals and garden in complete confidence. When we got home, the garden looked wonderful and the donkey, the sheep and the cat were doing very well, too. Ingrid and Victor are also very open minded and joyful persons. We would love to have them every year.:-)

The perfect house sitter

I could not have dreamed of a more perfect sitter for my apartment and my cat while I was away. First Ingrid was very organized and asked for every little thing regarding the flat and the cat routine. Then she did everything with her transportation so she could arrive at a time for us to chat before I leave and it was really pleasant and reassuring to meet her in person. She kept me updated with pics and little text messages everyday and lastly she left the flat cleaner than when she arrived ! My cat was really happy even though she's really anxious normally when I leave it was like nothing has happened (and so do my plants!) I'm really glad my first experience went so well and I really recommend Ingrid's services because she's a pro to house sitting !
